Our Story

I grew up in a small Northeastern North Carolina town.  My entire family lives within an hour of one another, and they are some of the most amazing people I know.  As a child, my summers were spent on the river behind our house from the time the sun rose until it set.  I loved any and all watersports, I worked as a lifeguard during the summers, and I went to the beach as often as possible.  I graduated high school never having left the South.  I went to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I studied pharmacy and was a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority.  That’s where I met Flyboy.  He was in the ROTC and preparing to be pilot in the military after graduation.  We ran in the same social groups, but he didn’t ask me out on our first date until 10 days before he left for flight school!  In May 2010, I graduated with my Doctor of Pharmacy degree never having been west of Texas.  That was the day Flyboy proposed.  That August, I packed my stuff and headed to Texas to be with my Flyboy.  We were married in March and have lived in 3 different places in the last 15 months.  There’s never a dull moment!  Four years ago, I could barely name all the branches of the military without stopping to think.  Today, I am a proud military spouse and we’re settling into our first “permanent” home – Hawaii!  I invite you to share our journey as we explore the islands and settle into our first real home.
